A man needs something he can hold onto, a nine pound hammer or a woman like you

I found myself face down in a ditch
Booze in my hair
Blood in my lips
A picture of you holding a picture of me
In the pocket of my blue jeans
Still don't know what love means.

Natalie Portman in the movie Garden State describes Ray LaMontagne's state perfectly. "My mom always says that, when she can see I'm, like, working something out in my head. She's like, 'You're in it right now' and I'm looking at you telling this story, and you're definitely in it." Ray LaMontagne is definitely "in it" right now. I initially chose this version because it was an Abbey Road sessions but after 30 seconds into the first listen I could tell that he was singing from his soul. I usually only get actual hair rasing chills from house music but bravo Ray LaMontagne for breaking those boundaries with your enchanting tone.

Drink the Sea

The Glitch Mob's Animous Vox delivers a pulsating and addictive effect. Their pseudo-downtempo and persuasive beats will penetrate your brain, slowly melting it away with a tenacious wall of sound and palatable, dance-friendly bass lines. The only complaint I have about their new EP is that they don't change it up a lot but they're beats are so solid I don't care and say if it's not broke don't fix it.

I need a gun, cause all I do is dance

Lupe AND Wale on top of a beat from one of my FAVORITE Gorillaz jams? I don't know how this could get anyyy better.
