You know she wears that dress without a care in the world.

Welcome to the Sunday Chill Zone. I look forward to straight kickin' it on Sundays almost as much as I live for the weekends. There's nothing better than sitting back and easing the mind to some super smooth soundscapes. I broke it up with some Bruce but had to throw not one, but two Oh Land tracks on this week's list because they are THAT fucking good. Just discovered them tonight and my mind is officially blown. "What does it sound like? What does it smell like? What does it look like? How does it feel? I always ask myself these questions when I'm writing," says singer and producer Nanna Øland Fabricius. "I think that Oh Land has a unique landscape all on its own. I strive to make the possibilities endless and to have all the senses collide in to a language on their own." This chick definitely gets it.

Where land and oceans meet
Peacefully I'm quiet
Cause nothing here is
Mad, bad or dangerous to know

It's the right night for the wrong company

Kickin' off Cover Wednesday Dr Dog style. Their take on Architectures in Helinski's Heart It Races delivers a sweet sing-a-long sound accompanied by wailing guitar solos and enthusiastic echoing chants. I was already digging their vibes but they really blew me away from minute 1:54 on when the song takes an unexpected turn to a whole new level of greatness. Their most recent album Shame, Shame stirs away from their normal harmonic layered tunes and touches more on their upbeat energetic side after being inspired by their recent time living on the road. “At this point, we’ve set out this buffet for ourselves, but we first had to cook that food and figure out what our tastes are,” McMicken says. “Now it’s time to dig in.”

I like my beats fast and my bass down lowww

It's hard to write about an event such as Bass Center 2. You think it would be easy to talk about such a monumental evening of absolute madness but it's hard to put it into words without selling it short or leaving any crucial details out. First off, it was Lorin's birthday so he was dropping beats extra dirty playing some of my favorite tracks such as his Remix of the Pixies Where is my mind and Yes. But how do you describe the pure chaos that was unleashed when Glitch Mob dropped a remix of Seven Nation Army or the childlike wonder and starstruck eyes of the crowd when Bassnectar mixed Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka into his intro? The truth is you can't but that's the beauty of it all. You become intoxicated by your surroundings taking the crowd as your family. Only the people there will ever know what it was like to be a part of those blissful moments. There is one memory I will share however. It was getting to be that point in the night when everyone was still undeniably groovin' but you could tell we were all starting tp loose a little steam and needed a pick me up. Of course Bassnectar must have noticed this as well because next thing I knew pink elephants were dancing on the screen and a huge dragon train was snaking wildly through the crowd hyping everyone up with their hands in the air tossing around giant see through balls. This wasn't the only trick Bassnectar had up his sleeve. All the lights turned to a heavenly white glow and girls started soaring through the air on trapeze swings leaving the crowd completely awestruck in amazement. I've been to A LOT of shows all around the world but these were by far some of the most advanced visuals and impressive props I've ever seen used. For all of you who couldn't be part of the magic, I'll leave you with this.

Click, click, saddle up, see you on the moon then

Sleigh Bell's lyrics are elementary at best but I can guarantee that the undeniablyy catchy beat will be stuck in your head for hours.

Cover Wednesday

Music makes the mood and I can't seem to shy away from that feel good beachy music lately. It could have something to do with the tease of warm weather we've been having that has finally seemed to melt the icy chip off of people's shoulders. This week's cover feature, Xavier Rudd, has also been known to heat things up and spread his good vibrations through people like wildfire. His songs carry an aura of heartfelt refreshment and they really seem to come to life onstage. He's a man of the earth with most of his songs revolving around the beauty found in nature and will probably be spotted barefoot playing one of his three didjeridoos (which he switches out regularly throughout his set) while simultaneously banging to the beat on several tribal drums. Throw a couple of cymbals in the mix and a voice as soft as behind a puppy's ear and you've unmasked this one man wonder. Here's a cover he perormed of Bob Marley's classic, No Woman No Cry.

She shook her hips and her long black hair, now all my baby does is stare at the gypsy woman

Although I'm not a fan of commercially made romance, Valentine's Day is always an excuse to enjoy a fine glass of red or three...with breakfast. It's also a perfect day to take the risk and confess your love to that special someone. So Here it goes. I have a SERIOUS girl crush on Grace Potter. She's got the medicine that everybody wants.I'd like to think she's talking about me in this song. I mean she does say gypsy woman and is describing a girl that could essentially be me. Maybe I'm reading into things too far but in the spirit of the day, I'm just gonna pretend. She's such a carefree sexy rocker chick and those pipes pour out perfection! Smokkkinnnn' really. She's been owning the festival stages for years now with her band the Nocturnals. They create such amazing energy on stage that gets everyone in the crowd wylin' out with their hands in the air.

Nothing but the water's gonna bring my soul to bare.
SOO true. My soul is incomplete unless I'm by the ocean

Anyone who performs on a roof is considered badass in my book.

Now we're dancing with no music what is happening? No feelings except this is right

Gorgeous indian summer day in Wilmington. I forgot how amazing the warmth of the sun feels and nothing eases the mind like the sound of crashing waves. For all of you not fortunate enough to be beach bummin' right now just close your eyes and maybe these songs will take you there.

Listen to the words. These guys have a lot of heart.

Sunset at the shoreline, we are laughing,
breaking up just like the waves
Are you feeling like I'm feeling?
Like I'm floating up above that big blue ocean
Sand beneath our feet, big blue sky above our heads,
No need to keep stressing from our everyday life on our minds.

Wild Cat

Big thanks to everyone who made my birthday such an epic success. I guesss 23's not that bad after all. Plus, I guess the minnie ears definitely knock off a few years ; ) Thought I'd leave you with some songs that would definitely be on the soundtrack to my life. Ratat's Wildcat would have definitely made the cut but I've abused my privileges of posting about them for a while along with Bob Dylan's Isis but couldn't find any version of the song worth posting.

She started dancin' to that fine fine music
You know her life is saved by rock 'n' roll,
....And it was alrigghhttt.

I need a gun, cause all I do is dance.

No words. The guitar's the only thing speaking to me in this one.

Won't you please me like you want to, not like you have to.

Items on today's menu are best serve "chilled." Relax after a long weekend and let your mind go for a minute or two, let your mind levitate for a delicate few.

Hopped up on a gypsy train with tracks that you can hide
That way no storm could follow our tomorrows
